When we take a comprehensive look at our health, we begin to see how everything is interconnected.
The term “holistic” refers to the whole person, and in examining our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors we can begin to see which habits are supportive to our health and which are detrimental. Creating meaningful change begins with awareness. Becoming more mindful of our internal landscape takes practice ~ daily practice. Mindfulness is the foundation of my health coaching practice and I believe it is paramount to creating lasting change. Through daily practice and increased awareness, I support my clients as they attune to their higher self where wisdom and clarity reside.
Thoughts have a significant impact on mental health and overall well-being. According to neuroscientific research, humans have around 60,000 thoughts per day ~ and 75% of those are generally negative ~ and 95% of those negative thoughts are repetitive. Because the nature of the mind is repetitious (and we are creatures of habit) we can easily get stuck in negative thought patterns, and rumination keeps us from moving forward. Old ways of thinking and feeling can not reveal new ways of being!
Lived experiences ~ including both setbacks and successes, influence behavior and create much of what we tend to believe about ourselves and the world around us. Our mindset is built upon our belief system and greatly impacts how we take action towards our goals. By taking action, we are establishing a new habit, and this changes how we think and feel. When we believe we can, we take different actions ~ that yield better results.
Mindset is the lens of who we say we are, who we want to be, and how we perceive our successes and “failures”. A perceived failure for a lot of us can be anything that does not meet our goals or ideas around how things “should be.” I consider missing the target as an integral part of mastery, and a necessary tool in building confidence. To bring about lasting change, it is imperative to adopt new perspectives ~ new ways of feeling and thinking ~ a growth mindset.
Building a growth mindset involves embracing our “failures” and nurturing ourselves, by understanding we are failing forward towards our desires. We must be willing to be mediocre and accept the inevitable struggle over mastery. This struggle is an important part of our development, allowing us to see ourselves as a work in progress rather than a fixed set of skills. Through the process we find more courage, compassion, and self-love.
In my holistic health coaching practice, I first address what a client wants to achieve, and then uncover what they might feel is in their way. What mindset are you approaching your goals with? If you have a choice in the matter ~ how might you train yourself to support your goals and dreams? What do you want to believe, and what actions need to be taken in order to begin to embody those beliefs? The answers are within my clients already. As a health coach, I guide them toward their innate wisdom by inviting curiosity and compassion so those answers float to the surface with greater ease and accessibility.
Through this process of discovery, clients gain a greater understanding of how they not only arrived here at this place, but more importantly how to move forward toward their best selves. As patterns become clearer, we can eradicate unwanted behaviors and replace them with those that align us with our goals.
In my practice, I use various tools to mitigate negative thought patterns and move towards a growth mindset. Some of these strategies include, mindfulness meditation and movement, breathwork, gratitude journaling, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and mirror work. These practices have the ability to forge new neural pathways, relieve anxiety, and create a greater sense of self ~ which eventually builds resilience in the mind, body, and spirit.

Sacred Spaces
Step into Serenity
Sacred spaces is an offering of alignment with those environments where we live, work and play. Clients are supported in creating harmonious energy in the physical spaces they spend their time, while using somatic tools to enhance space clearing in the body itself. Together we examine the relationship between our external space and our physical, mental, and emotional bodies (koshas). We use breath work, meditation and movement to bolster transformation. These various practices allow us to go deeper into the more subtle energies of the mindbody and over time, we begin to understand that all space can be sacred if we begin to care for it as such.
